My favorite point made here is that of course, all true scientists are skeptics.
I remember hearing in a BBC news report that "the science behind global warming is beyond doubt".
But of course, no science is beyond doubt.

Well that global warming happens is pretty certain.
ReplyDeleteAnthropogenic climate change is real and happening now, beyond any reasonable doubt (which may be as far as science can prove anything).
ReplyDeletePeople who still refuse to believe in climate change are not sceptics, they are deniers, like deniers of evolution or the Holocaust.
It's possible to construct a personal narrative where these things are not real, but it's not scepticism, it's simple denial.
